All HITEN™
capacitors from Saha Sprague are manufactured as per
computer aided designs and are in line with the
prevailing international standards of today.
- CONSTRUCTION
- Saha Sprague's HITEN™
Capacitors are available in Mixed dielectric and All
Film design with Non-PCB Impregnant. All Film design
has many significant advantages over the Mixed
Dielectric type. These include lower losses, lower
operating temperature and reduced tank rupture
hazard.

- Element are wound
utilising Carona Ring design (extended foil design)
and the winding is done in specially controlled atmospheric
conditions which contribute to high
reliability performance and extended service life.
Non-PCB synthetic insulating fluid for impregnation
is used and is non-toxic, biodegradable and
environmentally compatible. The capacitors container
is formed from cold rolled mild steel with all
joints welded and tested for heremeticity. These
containers further undergo chemical treatment to
make it absolutely clean and particle free.

- ELECTRICAL
PERFORMANCE :

- Permissible
overloads.
- The capacitors are
capable of continous operation at 110% of rated
voltage for 12 hours in a period of 24 hours, 130%
of rated current (both excluding transients) and
135% of rated KVAR.
- Before delivery
every capacitor is subjected to the following
routine tests according to the provisions of the
applied standard. IS 2834/1986.
- Visual
Examinations:
- Sealing test.
- Test for output and
capacitance
- Insulation
resistance test.
- Voltage test between
terminals.
- Voltage test between
terminals and containers
- Test for efficiency
of discharge device and
- Measurement of
tangent of dielectric loss.

- Reduced
Capacitor Losses
- Under normal
operating conditions, Saha Sprague's HITEN™ all
film capacitors operate at an average loss of 0.15
watt/KVAR including the loss of the discharge
resistor.

- Insulation
Level
- 28/75, 38/95 KV BIL.
These capacitors are designed and can withstand
high transient of the capacitor which exceeds 180%
of the rated voltage.

- Excellent
thermal stability
- Due to the extremely
low losses the dielectric hot spot temperature
rise is very low and stable. All film capacitors
may be used at relatively high ambient temperature
without reliability compromise.

- GUARANTEE
- Guarantee for 12
months from the date of commissioning or 18 months
from the
- date of dispatch.
