- ANTEX A8™
Fixed Capacitor Banks for
- Power Factor
Correction

|
Applications
: These Antex A8 series have been
specifically designed for applications for power factor correction
systems in conditions having heavy stress of non linear loads. The
recommended areas for use are Paper Mills, Cement Plants, Data
processing centers, printing presses, steel mills, induction
furnaces and all users who are connected to AC/DC static
continuity units. These result in reduction in demand charges,
release of transformer capacity, reduction in transmission losses
and improved system voltages. These
capacitors are of robust design and are built for 7 years
life. For more stringent applications, Saha Sprague
offers the SPRAGUE™
fixed capacitors for power factor correction with a 20
years life. |
- Construction:
-
- The Antex A8™
series is designed using the Antex A7™
capacitors. These
Capacitors are designed using two layers of Polypropylene
films which have been vacuum deposited with a special
combination of metal alloys to act as electrodes of the
capacitor. This film is would into elements using tension
which is computer controlled so as not to stretch the film
at the same time to ensure there is no air trapped in
between the layers. These elements are then impregnated in a
special low viscosity fluid and then assembled into Aluminum
Cans, built with special pressure interrupters. These
precludes any possibility of explosion of the capacitor unit
under extreme conditions.
-
- These capacitor units are then
connected in delta, house in a MS sheet housing , which is
powder coated . Discharge resistors are then attached, and
the units are then put into its various levels of
conditioning and testing. Each System comes with an
individual base data and is serialized for tractability.
-
- These Units are designed for
easy assembly and is completely modular right from the 5
KVAR units to the 25 KVAR units, and don’t require Banking
heads or bases., A range of easy banking accessories are
available on request.
